I’ve got some wonderful news to share: I’ve won an award from the KNAW (The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences)! This means that for the next four years I get to create awards for young talented scientists.
Every year twelve young scientists will receive an Early Career Award from the KNAW. They are at the start of their careers and are considered capable of further developing innovative and original research ideas.
All the winners will receive my design ‘Extended Jewellery’, consisting of an artfully presented brass screw with a “twist”. A twist you’ll need in both sciences and the arts to conceive new ideas, and can also be considered a symbol of thinking that goes against the grain.
The award for the artist consists of 7,500 euro which I will use to further my career.
