The Rising Balance candleholder consists of three brass components, which are cut into shape by water before being carefully sanded, polished, and folded by hand. The circular stone is made of basalt and acts as a counterbalance to the tea light.
The candleholder is a collaborative project with designer Bin Xu. Bin creates objects that invite users to playfully connect with their surroundings, other people, and themselves.
